Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Evolution is developed on the base of “Official Card Game: Duel Monsters”, which is developed by KONAMI and recognized by Guinness World Records as the best-selling Trading Card Game, and released in Japan in 1999. It is adapted from Card Game “Magic & Wizard Card” (Animation Version is called “Duel Monsters”) in manga “Yu Gi Oh”.
Cards are mainly divided into three types: Monster Card, Spell Card and Trap Card.
Monster Card is marked with one of the following signs on the right side of the card:「地」「水」「炎」「风」「光」「暗」「神」. Spell Card is marked with 「魔」, and Trap card 「罠」.
Monster Cards are generally used as main cards in battle. They are in the Main Deck and Extra Deck according to different types.
Spell Cards: Normal Spell Card, Equip Spell Card, Field Spell Card, Continuous Spell Card, Ritual Spell Card, Quick-Play Spell Card, Action Spell Card.
Trap Cards are cards whose card face is carmine. A Trap Card generally contains the following information.
Card Name: A card’s name. The cards with the same name are regarded as “The Same Card”, and these cards have the same effect according to the rule.
Activation Requirement: Unless there are other rules, a Trap Card must be “Set” first and can only be active after the current turn has finished. After that, it may be activated during either player's turn.
Trap Cards: Normal Traps, Continuous Traps, Counter Traps, Action Traps.
